The Darien Woman’s Club offers a community service scholarship to two high school seniors who have contributed considerable time in the area of community service and plan to attend college in the fall of 2024.

The fine arts scholarship is to encourage student development in the fine arts and to give them the opportunity to attend a summer camp or class in their area of interest. Two scholarships are awarded and must be used during the summer of 2024. The award will be made payable to the camp or school.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, there will be a guest speaker, a service project, a glass of champagne, and delicious tea breads, scones, finger sandwiches and desserts. The cost is $50 per person.

This month the Darien Woman’s Club presents Lilly Pulitzer - as portrayed by Leslie Goddard, an award -winning Chicago actress and Ph.D. scholar who brings famous women to life in fresh and evocative ways.

 In the 1960's, she changed fashion with her carefree shift dresses in whimsical, bold  patterns. But who was Lilly Pulitzer? In this new portrayal, historian Leslie Goddard  brings to life the entrepreneur and fashion designer who launched a design revolution. Learn what inspired this free-spirited young socialite to start a line of lightweight tropical dresses and how they become synonymous with resort living.

The Darien Woman’s Club CREATIVE YOUTH ART FAIR celebrates the young creative energy in our community and the importance of Art in our lives.

This free event exhibits various types of art media created by youth Pre-K through 12th Grade in the Darien area. Awards will be presented at 3:15pm.

The public is encouraged to visit the fair on Sunday for a warm activity that will energize you for Spring.
