Since its inception in 1970, the Darien Woman’s Club has offered Community Service as well as Fine Arts Scholarships to deserving students in the local area. The Community Service Scholarships are awarded annually to two high school seniors that have shown leadership, responsibility and commitment to community service through volunteer opportunities, and plan to continue their education. As of 2024, the club has awarded more than $100,000 for these scholarships.

The Fine Arts Scholarships are awarded annually to two students in 7th through 12th grade to encourage participation in the fine arts. These scholarships will be used to expand knowledge of, and enhance their talent in their area of interest. The club has awarded more than $32,000 for these scholarships.  GFWC and the Darien Woman’s Club are honored to encourage the leaders of tomorrow.

Community Service Scholarships

Eligibility: High School Seniors from Darien and surrounding areas

Scholarship Award: $2000.00/each

Deadline:  March 12, 2026

The Darien Woman’s Club Community Service Scholarships are awarded annually to two (2) high school seniors, that have contributed considerable time in the area of community service and plan to attend college in the Fall of 2026. 

High school social or athletic involvement is not considered volunteer work for the purpose of this scholarship. The focus of your volunteer work should show integrity, leadership, responsibility and commitment to community service.

Darien Woman’s Club

Fine Arts Scholarships

Eligibility: 7th through 12th grade from Darien and surrounding areas 

Scholarship Award: $500.00/each

Deadline: March 12, 2026

The Darien Woman’s Club Fine Art Scholarships are awarded annually to two (2) students in either Junior High School or High School. It is to encourage young students’ participation in the fine arts and to assist their enrollment in a camp or class to expand their knowledge and enhance their talent in their area of interest.

Two (2) scholarships are awarded and must be used during the Summer of 2026. The scholarship award will be made payable to the camp or school.

DWC Member’s Continuing Education Scholarship.

The purpose of this scholarship is to aid in our member’s educational or career goals. Applicants must be a current DWC member for a minimum of two complete years.

Applications are due Wednesday, March 12th, 2026!

GFWC is a philanthropic organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.
